Step 2: Draw in the next circle.
Once you’ve drawn your first small circle, you can draw another circle around it. This one will be much larger, and as you can see in the reference image, it’s not a perfect circle either. It is made up of many small curved lines so that the center of your sunflower design looks more like the center of a natural sunflower.
Step 3 – Next, draw the beginning of the petals
You will start with the petals for the third phase of your sunflower drawing. Using the reference image as a guide will come in handy here as you draw thin triangular shapes along the outer edge of the sunflower’s center. You should do your best to make sure they’re all about the same length and size as you can proceed with the process.
Step 4: Now, draw some more petals.
Your sunflower picture is starting to take figure now! For this following step, draw a few sharp points between the gaps of each of the petals we outlined before, as you can see in the picture. This will give more volume to the petals and make the sunflower much more fuller.
Step 5 – Next, you add details to the hub
We will keep it simple in the following step of this principle on drawing a sunflower. For this step, just a few stitches at the inner circle of the sunflower’s center. This will give your sunflower design a textured look in a natural sunflower.
Step 6 – Next, you add more center details
Now that you’ve added some detail to the center, you can add some pretty points to the rest of the center of the flower. As you can see in the image, we will draw curved lines that look a bit like half circles. Try adding a fair amount of these little lines in the outer ring to create a more excellent texture!

I would suggest utilizing a pencil for this measure before the pen progression once you are happy with it. To start, draw two slightly curved lines from the bottom of the sunflower and confirm that they are close to each other. If you are pulling in a pen, you need to leave a little space on each line for the leaves to be added. Using a pencil, erase the two rooms before tracing over the pen lines. If you are using a pencil, you must allow the ink of the pen you are drawing on it to dry before erasing the pencil underneath!
Step 9: Now, draw the leaves.
Now that your stem is drawn, you can add some leaves to your sunflower drawing. To add them, you can use a variety of curved and straight lines to replicate the look of the leaves in the reference image. Remember that each leaf will have its thin stem coming out of the main branch of your sunflower design.
